This ISTQB® advanced seminar is all about the tasks of a test automation engineer (TAE) – from the conception, development and implementation to the maintenance of test automation solutions.

You will learn the concepts, methods, tools and processes for automating dynamic functional tests and their relationship to test management, configuration management, defect management, software development processes and quality assurance.

We will show you how you can apply the methods described across different software lifecycle approaches (e.g. agile, sequential, incremental, iterative) and types of software systems (e.g. embedded, distributed, mobile) as well as test types (functional and non-functional tests).

Course content

The course teaches the curriculum content of the ISTQB® in 3 days. After the training, you will be able to competently integrate test automation into test processes and select suitable tools for the respective tasks.  We ensure that you can develop a test automation strategy (TAS), set up a test automation architecture (TAA) and review and optimize your test automation frameworks (TAF).

You will learn how to convert manual tests into automated tests and how to generate and evaluate automated reports and metrics. The course is accompanied by repetitions of testing terminology and testing fundamentals.

    The Curriculum ISTQB® CTAL-TAE  is the basis for passing the exam
  • How does testing work? If you are not a software tester, ask your company how it works!
  • In order to receive the certification “ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Automation Engineer”, you must not only successfully pass the final examination but also provide proof of the basic certificate „ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level
  • Your participation in the exam is optional. We assume that you would also like to take the ISTQB® CTAL – Test Automation Engineer exam after the training. Please let us know when booking the course if you do not want to do this.
  • The exam in English lasts 90 minutes and takes place in a Pearson Vue test center of your choice. Non-native speakers can apply for a 25% time extension, the exam then lasts 113 minutes. We will organize your participation for you. The independent certification body charges a fee of 225.00 euros plus VAT for conducting the exam, which we will invoice you with the training fees.
